Causes - Pelvic Trauma

Trauma to the Pelvic Floor can be as a result of for example a direct blow to the coccyx, this can affect the alignment of the coccyx and the pelvis and the inflammation can set up a holding pattern in the Pelvic Floor over time.

This is diagnosed as COCCYDYNIA, it can be difficult to release and may need manual therapy and BREATHING RELEASE TECHNIQUES to stop daily habitual holding patterns.

Childbirth, a fall, cycling, horse riding or a road traffic accident are among the main causes. Posture and seating are important and it may respond well to injection in addition to conservative treatment.
