Causes - Pelvic Girdle Pain
PELVIC GIRDLE PAIN (PGP) in pregnancy is the potentially debilitating pain that some women experience when the pelvis looses stability and alignment. The Pelvic Floor can often become overactive as a result of the “hanging on” required to compensate for the lack of stability of the pelvis.
If this instability continues without the proper intervention to correct it, the Pelvic Floor will continue to develop this negative holding pattern and symptoms associated with PELVIC FLOOR DYSFUNCTION will develop.
MANUAL THERAPY of the pelvis and the Pelvic Floor will help restore the balance. See the website www.pelvicpartnership.org.uk for more information on PGP.
